Introduction:
21Ride.com is an online service that allows people from around the world to connect together to share a vehicle ride. The website could be described as a virtual hitchhiking service that provides a much safer and convenient form of hitchhiking. Each member has their own profile and feedback rating system, which allows individuals to sell their ride and to build up trust with other users.
Aim:
The main aim of 21Ride.com is to help drivers cover the costs of their ride and give passengers a cheap and convenient mode of transport. 21Ride.com hopes to reduce global vehicle emissions by promoting private ride sharing with this new and exciting service.
Payments:
There are no registration or membership fees to use the website. 21Ride.com only charges a small transaction fee when rides are paid and received between users; all payments are made securely via PayPal. If members chose to post a ride using the basic posting option payments between members in order to cover the cost of the ride is to be maid external to 21Ride.com.
Drivers:
simply register yourself and your vehicle, then post as many rides as you like. No ride distance is too short or too far; whether commuting to work or travelling across the globe, someone is likely to be interested in sharing the cost of your ride.
You will be given 2 options when posting your ride:
Option 1: Passengers who buy available seats will make payment via the online payment system directly to 21Ride.com. If passengers do not show up for the arranged departure time, drivers will still receive payment. The driver is required to leave a deposit of 25% of the potential seat sales of the posted ride to provide security that the ride will be successful.
Option 2: Passengers will be asked to contact drivers via the 21Ride.com message system to arrange payment. This normally results in cash being exchanged at the arranged pick up point.
Passengers:
Search rides world-wide, choose the one you want, check out the ride info and drivers profile, view the driver’s feedback, and if all fits select the ride.
Payment of the shared cost of the ride will be made via PayPal to 21Ride.com. We will then release the funds to the driver 48 hours after the departure time of the ride, unless any complaints about the ride have been reported. This system allows the possibility for passengers to be refunded if a driver fails to complete the ride or does not show up at the arranged place, date, time. Passengers are not refunded if they fail to show on time for the departure of there ride.
